Open Studios at the Bermondsey Project during the opening weekend of Mise-en-Scène Friday 20 September 6-9pm and Saturday 21 September 2-8pm. Featuring the work of nineteen artists selected from Bow Arts.
Exhibition continues Tuesday to Sunday 1-6pm until 05 October.
On the 20th and 21st September, 140 artists will be opening up the doors to their Bow Arts SE1 studios to give you the chance to see behind the scenes of our growing creative community.
Over the weekend, the creativity continues on the second floor at Crisis Skylight studios, the first floor at East London Furniture workshop, and the London Sculpture workshop on the ground floor of the Bermondsey Project site. You can also take a stroll down to the Bermondsey Street Festival and check out nearby Southwark Studios and White Cube Gallery.
This year’s Bow Arts Open exhibition is selected and directed by artist duo Cullinan Richards. Bow Arts artists will present works ranging from painting, sculpture, installation, video, live and recorded performance responding to the chosen theme of ‘Mise- en- scène’.
As an element of their own practice Cullinan Richards explore the idea of the exhibition as a medium, and the opening evening promises to be an eclectic array of visual, conceptual and performance works.
All artists who applied to take part, whether successful or not, were asked to provide a ‘script, and all 39 scripts submitted will be included in the exhibition publication.
With the Bow Open studios taking place over the opening weekend of Mise- en- scène there will be an abundance of art work to see and experience.
